Today I had a look into gestures, to see how simple they were to implement and to see if it would be possible to make a shockwave in the direction that I ‘flick’ the screen. After reading a couple of resources:

It all seemed surprisingly simple! I changed my shockwave class to have a velocity as well as just a position, and then create a shockwave travelling in the direction of the ‘flick’ from the players current position. It works pretty well!

Just a tweak of artwork and adding it to a power-up and I’ll have a nice moving shockwave as a weapon =).
